Athena is looking for a Social Listening & Alerting project manager to join the Optimization & Reporting Team. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Corporate Communications Analytics Lead at a Fortune 50 client with the brand’s 24x7 social media listening strategy. This individual will drive real-time understanding and situational awareness of the issues impacting the client’s business and brand on a day-to-day basis and be responsible for organizing key topics and priorities alongside a larger team. The Project Manager will collaborate with the client to identify business priorities requiring escalation and ensure efficient management of reporting surrounding brand crises, taking responsibility during evenings and some weekends.
This role is an ideal fit for a highly organized individual who enjoys staying up to date with current events and understands the impact of social and digital media on businesses. We work in a spirited, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate must be able to independently assess situations and confidently make decisions on escalations without direct oversight from leadership
Requirements
The skills and experience you should bring to this project:
Project Management
- Collaborating with a team of social media analysts to ensure a streamlined client experience in receiving all reporting across several workstreams: real time monitoring, brand and topic reporting, and customer support
- Driving alerting and reporting management, especially during crisies situations and outside of core business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when high priority topics arise.
- Facilitating communication flow and meetings between the Leadership and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring a seamless exchange of information
- Managing Q&A process reporting and client deliverables to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Managing agendas and action items for several core workstreams, including outside vendors
- Recommending applicable process/project optimization solutions
Reporting
- Identifying actionable insights to inform brand planning, content development, reputation management, market research, and competitive analysis
- Developing and presenting social intelligence reports by translating social media listening data into relatable stories for cross-functional and executive audiences
- Managing integrated content reporting combining social listening insights with website analytics and digital asset performance
Strategic Partnership
- Monitoring and communicating emerging social media trends and technological capabilities to help shape digital marketing and insights efforts
- Conducting research and analysis to support strategic decision-making processes
The qualifications you will bring:
- 4+ years in marketing, communications, or PR with strong project management expertise and interest in data
- Proven project management and organization skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience working with social listening programs and analysis for a major brand (agency or corporate experience)
- Strong strategic understanding of social listening capabilities and passion for staying educated about developments
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data sets into insightful non-technical stories
- Ability to think strategically and independently – understanding how the various components of an initiative fit into a broader picture
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing executive presentations and understanding of large corporate environments
It’s a plus if you have:
- Familiarity with social media listening platforms (Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Salesforce, Crimson Hexagon, Netbase, Hootsuite, etc.)
- Industry: Experience in the telecommunications or entertainment industry, preferably in a large-scale corporate environment

Candidates must be willing to work hybrid (3 days on-site) in our Philadelphia, PA office or remotely in Denver, CO.
