About the Role:

We are seeking a Shipping/Receiving/Stores Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the shipping, receiving, and stores functions. This position ensures timely and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and products while maintaining proper inventory levels and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate price and service issues for all modes of International and Domestic transportation.
  • Review export orders to insure prompt shipment according to the terms of the order.
  • Review domestic orders to insure prompt and correct shipment according to the requirements of the Customer.
  • Prepare documents for International Shipments. Examples: Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading. Includes Hazardous Documentation for magnetized items.
  • Process and coordinate customer and logistics requirements with Manufacturing to insure timely delivery of orders.
  • Route domestic Outbound Allowed shipments in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Obtain quotes for shipments, as requested by Customers and/or Sales Representatives.
  • Coordinate Inspections of International shipments by third party inspection companies.
  • Process domestic shipments to Grainger Inc., and other distributors.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management and/or 2 or more years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing, planning, traffic, logistics or related functions.
  • Knowledge of freight logistics and customs regulations with ability to negotiate attractive pricing and terms with logistics providers.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with logistics providers and with internal personnel regarding shipments.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Applications and other systems.
  • Handle high volume of correspondence and telephone communication.
  • Reduce logistics costs and improve service.
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Hourly Pay: starting at $27.50/ hr.
