About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, components, products, and services to meet the company's needs. The Senior Buyer will also negotiate with suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and seek opportunities to improve processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase materials for Eriez requirements. Find and qualify new suppliers that meet or exceed Eriez quality requirements including supplier contract negotiations, focusing on cost, quality, and favorable terms
  • Expedite requirements to meet customer demands
  • Perform system functions as required
  • Resolve specification issues and delivery issues with related departments. Follow up with suppliers to assure delivery
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers. Supplier Relationship Management
  • Request and analyze quotations for new and existing items
  • Document and analyze the quality performance of suppliers
  • Arrange disposition of non-conforming materials
  • Serve as department manager designee in all matters at the discretion of the Purchasing Manager
  • Travel to suppliers as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a Sr. Buyer role required
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  •  Certification as a C.P.M. or C.P.I.M a plus
  • Experience with International purchasing including logistics/incoterms
  • Knowledge of the following commodities is preferred - power transmission, machinery and machining processes
  • Able to handle heavy phone correspondence and operate in a fast-paced environment; strong business writing skills are essential.
