Seasonal Head Groundskeeper

Under general supervision, the head groundskeeper supervises a seasonal groundskeeper, and, together, they care for and maintain buildings, trails, and grounds at Valley View Park between roughly mid-April and October so that all facilities and property are in a neat, attractive, and safe condition for the public's use. This position ensures the park is open 7 days a week, from sunrise to sunset, in conjunction with the Groundskeeper, in opening the park's gate, and maintaining the park's trails, restrooms, playground and pavilions.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will hold a high school diploma or GED; be at least 18 years old; possess a minimum of one year's hands-on experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, construction work, maintenance, or other directly related field; knowledge of various building maintenance procedures and techniques; knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for maintenance and repair of hard and soft surfaces; valid Pennsylvania driver's license with motor vehicle record free of infractions that would prevent operation of County vehicle; supervisory skills sufficient to oversee one worker and various projects; keen attention to detail; diligence, initiative, and pride in work done well. Applicants will need clearances to comply with Child Protective Services Law by date of hire.

Benefits

The hiring range for this seasonal, nonexempt position is $14.07 to $15.48/hour, and the season will not exceed a maximum of 999 hours. Benefits package does not apply to this position as a result of its seasonal hours worked. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
