Full Job Description
Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Project Manager for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. The candidate will lead and oversee special projects at the direction of the CIO. The candidate will also analyze business needs, organize problem-solving efforts, plan and remediate troubled projects, and ensure new initiatives are properly planned, launched, and executed. This position will support the CIO in achieving the goals and objectives set forth by administration.
This position will be primarily based onsite in Philadelphia, with the potential for occasional travel outside the city to support project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, clarify, and manage project scope, deliverables, and outcomes
- Ensure project requirements are met within budget and timeline constraints
- Assemble project teams, identify resources, assign responsibilities, and develop timeframes
- Determine project costs and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery
- Ensure compatibility with existing architectural and enterprise standards
- Perform cost/benefit analysis of actions and initiatives
- Schedule and document meeting minutes
- Adhere to prescribed project management practices and SDLC
- Prepare status reports, summaries, and dashboards for management
- Provide support, coaching, and mentoring on project management best practices
Requirements
- Leadership qualities, including conflict resolution and ability to run projects or programs
- Effective verbal and written communication with stakeholders and senior business leaders
- Ability to organize and work effectively with diverse project teams
- Experience in designing and building distributed and enterprise solutions
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of consultants and technical personnel
- Strong presentation skills, strategic thinking, and high professional ethics
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of project management, SDLC, budgeting, IT infrastructure, ITIL, and cloud computing
- Understanding of IT project management best practices, principles, and techniques (PMBOK)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3-5 years of project management experience with large, cross-functional teams or projects
- 4-6 years of relevant business experience
- PMP certification or Master's Certificate in Project Management
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable
