Processing Operator
This position supports the Operations team at I.Rice. Here you will engage in a fast-paced work environment at a robust food manufacturing plant. This is a full-time position with daytime hours, primarily Monday through Friday.
This candidate must be able to work in a dynamic setting, perform multiple duties, and engage in new opportunities each day.
Essential Job and Duties
- Leads kettle team and manages day-to-day kettle operations
- Operates kettle and filling equipment to produce product within guidelines established by the Operations and Quality Control teams
- Provides technical assistance and performs basic maintenance on production and filling equipment
- Interfaces with floor supervisors
- Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Follow Safe Quality Foods protocols
- Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
Skills, Expectations and Education/Training
- General mechanic skills related to food manufacturing facility and related equipment
- Strong communication skills required, especially in relation to verbal communication between operators and supervisors across departments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated
- Must be able to manage changing priorities associated with a fast-paced, team environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General mechanic training certificate preferred but not required, such as HVAC and plumbing
- Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred but not required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to withstand standing for long periods of time
