About the role
As a Pharmacist with LifeMD you will play a vital role in our high volume mail order pharmacy. As a closed door pharmacy, our focus is on fulfilling patient prescriptions in an accurate, timely manner.
Responsibilities
- All functions requiring professional judgment in a pharmacy operation
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and ensure all personnel behave in accordance with company policy, and state and federal pharmacy statutes
- Reviews and interprets prescription orders from prescribers for accuracy and appropriateness. This includes everything involved in a prospective drug utilization review (therapeutic duplication, drug-drug interaction, over utilization, under utilization, drug-pregnancy contraindication, high dose, low dose, drug-age interaction, drug-disease interaction, appropriate duration of therapy)
- Verify work performed by pharmacy technicians, including but not limited to: filled prescription orders, cassettes filled for semi-automated dispensing device and inventory receipt
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Able to appropriately interact with patients over the phone to provide counseling and answer drug questions
- Participates in in-service education programs when requested
- Ensure a high level of professional service is provided by the pharmacy at all times
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the profession by attending meetings, lectures, in service and seminars; by reading journals; and by complying with National Standards of Continuing Education to maintain professional competency and proficiency
- Maintains required licensure and immediately notifies manager of any disciplinary action on license
- Any other work assigned by the Pharmacist In Charge
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
- Licensed, registered Pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania
- 6 months experience practicing pharmacy
- Ability to perform any necessary pharmacy math
- Read, comprehend and implement company policies and procedures and pharmacy statutes in daily practice
- Ethical conduct
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mail order pharmacy experience
- Ability to learn and perform operations within pharmacy management software systems
- Fast learner with a detail oriented mindset
- Dedication to punctuality and low absenteeism
