About the Role:
We are looking for a Parts Finishing Leadman for our second shift team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Parts Finishing Supervisor in managing Personnel and work related to the Parts Finishing department to make sure that the production schedule is met. This position ensures the productivity of the second shift team, by providing the necessary support and supervision to maintain consistent and efficient workflow. The Leadman will help oversee day-to-day operation of the department and work to coordinate support for the team. This role is vital to the successful pursuit of efficient workflow, on-time shipments, the profitability of the company, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a direct labor employee (Parts Finisher) as needed to help meet production requirements. This is expected to be 40-60% of the role.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of second shift employees engaged in production or processing of goods. Work independently to facilitate workflow within the department.
- Train new employees to perform at a high level within the department. Suggests and helps to implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Communicates with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Requisitions materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Ensure that all areas have Standard Work Documents, and all Continuous Improvements initiatives are implemented and followed.
- Working knowledge/experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems used in the Parts Finishing Department.
- Familiar with measuring equipment and procedures to check the quality of the goods being produced within the department.
- Proven Knowledge of industrial grinding and polishing equipment and demonstrated proficiency as it relates to grinding, polishing, shot/glass bead blasting, cleaning, and tumbling with the appropriate equipment to meet customer requirements.
- Willing to travel to evaluate possible new equipment purchases in the field.
- Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- At least 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Capable in the use of computers and associated software as it pertains to Eriez.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and use basic shop math including decimals and fractions.
- Able to read and follow engineering drawings, written procedures, sales orders, and specification sheets and determine equipment and methods used in the cleaning of fabricated components.
- Able to use specialized tools/fixtures, both electrical and mechanical, pneumatic to complete fabrication.
- Familiar with various types of industrial equipment used in the grinding, polishing, shot/glass bead blasting, cleaning, and tumbling of metal parts for Industrial equipment.

Hourly pay: $24/hr. to $27.40/hr. (****Compensation commensurate with experience ****)
