Full Job Description
Symmetrio is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Architect to consult, train, and lead the modernization of the Microsoft Office 365 environment for a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you will be a key driver of the transformation, enhancing and optimizing Office 365 services, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Stream, Viva Insights, Teams (Voice and Rooms), Exchange, and Power Apps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading Office 365 modernization initiatives, combined with strong training and mentoring skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide expert consultation on the effective use of Office 365 applications.
This role demands a high level of technical expertise, and the ability to work with teams from different departments. This is a hybrid 24-month contract position, with a high likelihood of an extension.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand their IT requirements and to assess current Microsoft environments recommending scalable, cost effective and modernizing solutions to meet business objectives
- Lead the implementation of proposed solutions, ensuring smooth deployment and configuration of Microsoft systems adhering to best practice and current industry standards
- Manage migrations from legacy systems to Microsoft Office 365, maintain data integrity, minimize downtime, and provide post-migration support and expertise.
- Configure Microsoft Office 365 settings based on business requirements, including security policies, compliance settings, and user roles. Customizing applications like SharePoint and Teams to streamline workflows.
- Provide hands-on training and documentation for IT teams, ensuring they are fully equipped to manage and support Office 365. Attend team meetings and activities, supporting the team’s efforts to adopt DevOps principles.
- Lead end-user trainings to ensure successful adoption of Microsoft Office 365 tools, developing and curating a library of training materials, conducting workshops, and offer ongoing support.
- Serve as the resident technical expert for Office 365, with particular focus on SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Apps, Stream, Viva Insights, Exchange, and DLP
- Develop and maintain relationships with other members of the Organization’s IT community. Mentoring more junior members of the team.
Requirements
- At least 7 years’ experience with Office365 applications and products (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams (including Voice and Rooms), Exchange, Power Apps.
- At least 5 years’ experience scripting in PowerShell, with particular experience in conducting code reviews and using code repositories
- At least 3 years’ experience offering and leading consultations to diverse groups of clients, including technical staff and business/programmatic staff
- At least 3 years’ experience preparing, delivering, and leading trainings o Doing so with Office365 products is strongly preferred
- Be able to track and complete tasks independently
- Able to complete an FBI background check for CJIS clearance
- Able to complete training for HIPAA compliance
- Experience with Microsoft’s GCC licensing suite is highly desirable.
