Why we need you

Springboard Collaborative is seeking a full-time Material Handler to work at our Philadelphia, PA warehouse for $27.45/hour plus benefits (see below). Hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The Material Handler will support the Warehouse Manager and our warehouse staff to maintain accurate inventory and fulfill supply chain needs for our organization’s programs at schools across the country. Here are your priorities in the first year:

  • Ensure 95% of materials you pick, pack, and ship meet quality control standards
  • Achieve 98% accuracy in count and ensure completion of pre-inventory assignments during cycle counts and end-of-year inventory processes
  • Meet new metrics for the supply chain team’s processing times while moving and allocating inbound shipments
  • Actively participate in monthly safety meetings (presenting at least once) and receive a passing grade on 11/12 monthly safety inspections
  • Meet or exceed all key performance indicators in Qstock, our inventory management system

Here are your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:

  • You will prepare raw materials for partners
    • Kit and Assemble of raw materials
    • Locate and gather products to move and distribute to assembly area, or to shipping areas
    • Transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
    • Print and complete daily pick list, cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy, and process work orders
    • Assemble, build, wrap, sort, and transport customer orders, ensuring the stability and safety of kitted products.
    • Ensure products are properly packed and organized for safe shipment
  • You will assist with receiving and inventory projects
    • Assist with completing receiving events in systems and moving materials to proper bin locations.
    • Weigh outgoing shipments and record in systems
    • Operate a hand truck, cart, dollies, stacker, order-picker, and walkie to transport items
    • Use scanners to read bar codes on products and complete pick lists and inventory-related assignments
  • You will participate in Warehouse Maintenance and Safety Protocol
    • Report to the supervisor regarding any damage to racks, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards.
    • Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, labeled, and in compliance with OSHA regulations, Safety Committee initiatives, and SBC policy
    • Organize and secure stored materials such as boxes, pallets, etc.
    • Break down cardboard and remove trash/recycling from work areas daily
  • You will assist with shipping
    • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and managers to achieve daily objectives for production and adhere to the production schedule
    • Aid in the process of receiving, unloading, and restocking of newly arrived shipments
    • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs, in support of FA, as needed (FedEx and UPS)
    • Wrapping material loads with a wrapper.
  • You will collaborate with the inventory staff
    • Perform daily duties as allotted by a manager or supervisor: cycle counts, product putaways from production, backup in receiving, etc.
    • Follow the Warehouse Manager’s directions for bin locations, packaging, and warehouse organization.
    • Work with Inventory Associate to safely store items in designated warehouse locations based on storage requirements
    • Assist with the monitoring of stock for non-inventory warehouse supplies

Compensation

$27.45/hour paid bi-weekly on Fridays, according to Springboard Collaborative’s regular pay schedule.

The Material Handler will report in person to Springboard Collaborative’s Yeadon warehouse at 6250 Baltimore Ave, Unit 14, Yeadon, PA 19050.
