Highlight Health is a mission-driven company that protects consumer rights and controls healthcare costs for self-funded employers. We are a profitable, fast-growing company without private equity investors.

 

Highlight Health seeks to hire a highly motivated, hard-working, and entrepreneurial attorney to serve as its first in-house Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will either have knowledge of or be prepared to learn a vast amount of information regarding ERISA, health plan documents, healthcare billing and payments, healthcare cost containment, and HIPAA, and then work to synthesize this information into actionable decisions and strategies.

 

Research and writing capabilities are critical to this position. The candidate will be tasked with leading Highlight Health’s Legal Department and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The candidate must work in our downtown Philadelphia office at least 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic performance.  Law review experience is a plus.
  • Robust and accurate analytical, research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Admittance to a State Bar.
  • 2-4 years of relevant career experience, pre- or post- law school. Prior experience drafting health plan documents/contracts or navigating ERISA laws is strongly desired.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and using legal department technology solutions, e.g., contract lifecycle management (CLM), document management, and matter-management programs, as well as e-signature tools) and working with cross-functional groups (e.g. finance, operations, sales, and IT).

  • Base Salary: $120,000 +
