About the role:

The Laboratory Technician in our Eriez floatation department at Wager road facility conducts sample preparation to facilitate mineral processing lab testing and assists in day-to-day laboratory activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sample preparation to support testing, including crushing, grinding, and blending of mineral samples.
  • Be able to conduct data acquisition by recording data neatly and accurately within computer-based templates.
  • Assist engineers and lab management team to derive and maintain project schedules.
  • Use analytical ability to identify best route for upgrading or separating materials provided by customers.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects in the lab space keeping work areas and lab environment clean.
  • Troubleshoot minor problems encountered with test equipment in the lab.
  • Construct and assemble prototype equipment in the test lab.
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Good analytical ability with a working knowledge of algebra and trigonometry.
  • Must have good technical writing and communication skills.
  • Must be able to read & comprehend drawings, wiring diagrams & flow sheets.
  • Good mechanical skills for required ("hands-on-work")
  • Basic understanding of maintenance related activity along with electrical and electronic circuitry
  • Able to design/fabricate/modify parts for prototype equipment.
  • Must be able to work within a diverse team environment.
  • Be willing to be certified to operate a driving forklift and able to work in a facility with strong magnetic fields.

Hourly Pay starting:- $21/hr.
