Full Job Description
Symmetrio is actively recruiting for an IT Project Manager for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. The candidate will support our client's Parks and Recreation department with several high-priority projects. The Project Manager will also lead the implementation of system-wide hardware and software modernization and integration initiatives as directed by the department's IT Director. Key projects include a contract with a major telecommunications provider to equip 150+ sites with internet, computer equipment, and network infrastructure, as well as a state grant to enhance infrastructure at four recreation centers to serve as internet hubs for the community.
Responsibilities
- Effectively lead and supervise project teams, providing guidance and coaching to achieve project outcomes
- Collaborate with other division project leads and support their activities
- Develop project scope, deliverables, and timelines to ensure requirements are met on budget and schedule
- Assemble and engage project teams, identify resources, assign responsibilities and build collaborative relationships
- Conduct technology needs assessments, cost/benefit analyses, prepare status reports and make recommendations to leadership
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, prepare and deliver presentations
- Plan, organize and direct the work of department staff, consultants, and vendors
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisees, peers, supervisors, and the central IT department
- Support ongoing or new network software, hardware, and upgrade projects as assigned
Requirements
- Demonstrated project/team management skills, ability to run projects end-to-end
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Presentation skills, strategic thinking, and high professional ethics
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Knowledge of and/or experience with parks and recreation network and software applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work/Social Policy, Social Science, Information Technology or related field
- 3-5 years experience with social service, child welfare, or parks and recreation system network and software applications
- Project management and team supervision experience
