Full Job Description

The Inventory Specialist assists the Inventory Manager within the Business Operations Team on inventory-related issues and completes the day-to-day inventory tasks related to all Ascension products. This position helps investigate, report on, and resolve variances and discrepancies in product inventories.  This individual makes sure the development of recording and filing systems and supports the auditing of inventory transactions and costs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With direction from Inventory Manager, create purchase order (PO) transactions and receipts in the ERP system and in our warehouse systems (ShipMonk).
  • Monitor and assess all warehouse transactions regarding inventory receivings and handle discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and levels. 
  • Attend print status meetings to stay informed on various print jobs and meetings with ShipMonk to stay informed on fulfillment/inventory operations with the 3PL.
  • With direction from Inventory Manager, contact vendors of outside publisher products, gathering the necessary information to place an order.  Create these items in the ERP system and send POs.
  • Assist Inventory Manager in answering any inventory inquiries that Customer Support and Product Teams may have, including inventory levels, locations, or in-stock dates, as needed.
  • Create new items in the ERP system and warehouse system.
  • With direction from Inventory Manager, assist in inter-warehouse transfer orders between ShipMonk warehouses. 
  • In collaboration with the Inventory Manager, conduct routine audits of product information (weight, width, height, case count, prices changes, new versions/formats, etc.), safety stock level, reorder points, product and inventory levels, making adjustments accordingly.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in inventory management or related fields.
  • Strong computer skills; familiarity with systems such as ERP, E-Commerce,  Microsoft Office and Google Docs, specifically Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to details
  • Excellent data analysis/math/accounting skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration, organization, and time-management skills.
