Our client, a leading manufacturer in the HVAC industry with roots dating back nearly 100 years and a global presence with over 1200 employees, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide both strategic and tactical leadership for its operations in Tonawanda NY.
This position is a key stakeholder in developing and executing the people and culture policies and practices for all US based employees. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources and with the support of an existing team of HR Business Partners and Coordinators the successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of projects globally in addition to the duties for the US employees.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of progressive experience, with a bulk of that time in manufacturing organizations.
Relocation can be supported for candidates outside of the Buffalo NY area.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding – drive full-cycle recruitment activity for professional, technical, administrative, and production staff.
- Benefits & Administration – manage and administer the group insurance and 401k plans, including negotiating renewals and compliance reporting.
- HR Program Execution – support the rollout of programs and processes such as performance management, recognition, rewards, and training to improve engagement and productivity.
- Employee Relations – provide advice and resolution recommendations to ensure world class employee support and guidance on day-to-day employee relations matters as well as organizing company social engagement events (holiday parties, BBQs, etc.)
- Health, Safety and Environment – participate and provide ideas to the “Green Team” and Joint Health and Safety and Wellness committees.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent HR experience
- At least 5 years of HR experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and distribution employees in an industrial environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations (PHR/SPHR highly preferred).
- Creative problem solving and conflict management skills within a variety of different organization structures.
- Team-oriented leadership skills and ability to present complex topics to a wide range of audiences in ways that will connect and be impactful.
- Ability to work autonomously with an authentic communication style.
