Highlight Health is a small, fast-growing startup with offices in Center City Philadelphia, PA, Newark, NJ, and Champaign-Urbana, IL. We’re on a mission to fight against high-cost hospital bills and make healthcare more transparent and fairer to everyone. We use data-driven methods and innovative technology to identify and eliminate fraud, waste, abuse, and overpricing in the healthcare industry.
We will count on you to
- Integrate/develop automated and on-demand APIs for healthcare data.
- Work with various data connections, including API, SFTP, and flat files.
- Perform quality checks on incoming healthcare data for accuracy and completeness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data related issues.
- Devise strategies to work around data limitations and security needs.
- Help in building repeatable methodologies.
Requirements
- Experience with API integration/development.
- Knowing at least one of the following software tools: SQL (any version, including Proc SQL of SAS), R Studio, or Python.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience in EDI mappings, reading and creating X12s (Healthcare Claim 837).
- Experience working with and within large databases within in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
- Worked in an environment that values high-quality, well-documented work.
- Experience with two or more of the above software tools.
- Medical knowledge.
- Worked in a small company or department where you or your team had diverse data responsibilities.

Compensation
- $30+ per hour, depending on experience.
