Data Analyst (Hybrid)

Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Data Analyst for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. The primary focus of this role is to participate in mapping and documenting all existing data systems, as well as collecting, reviewing, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various systems. The secondary focus will be creating reports and visualizations of data. This position is part of a larger initiative to modernize the our client's data infrastructure by migrating data to a centralized data lake on Amazon S3 and Redshift.

This is hybrid role in Philadelphia

Responsibilities

• Gather data from identified systems in various formats, including databases, spreadsheets, and external systems
• Review data for accuracy and completeness
• Identify inconsistencies and anomalies within data
• Clean data to eliminate duplicates, correct errors, and fill missing values
• Standardize data formats for consistency
• Prepare data for integration into data lake
• Collaborate with department analysts and business owners to understand data of identified systems
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and developers to assist in understanding both upstream and downstream uses of data
• Create comprehensive data mapping documents
• Create data review and cleaning reports
• Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards to present data findings to stakeholders
• Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to create interactive and intuitive visual representations of data
• Communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar role
• Strong SQL skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Aptitude for learning other analytical tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

• Experience with cloud platforms
• Experience using Azure Data Factory
• Experience using Python
• Experience using AWS S3
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
