Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Energy Sector Preferred

We are seeking an experienced sitting CFO with a strong background in hedging, applicable across any commodity type, with a high preference for energy sector experience. The CFO will oversee all financial and administrative functions, including accounting, reporting, risk management, financial strategy, and team leadership, to drive growth, profitability, and operational efficiency across all business entities.

Position Summary:

The CFO will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, risk management, banking relationships, compliance, and M&A initiatives, while leading finance personnel and ensuring the organization’s financial health and strategic direction.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies to align with business goals and growth objectives.
• Risk Management: Oversee risk management processes, including monetary and derivative assets/liabilities, with an emphasis on hedging strategies.
• Investment Decisions: Design and implement investment strategies, ensuring optimal cash flow and liquidity management.
• Financial Planning & Reporting: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to ensure reliability and accuracy of financial statements and projections.
• Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to legal regulations, corporate policies, and governance requirements.
• Leadership: Manage a team of 4 direct reports and lead 65 employee owners across all financial and administrative functions.
• Mergers & Acquisitions: Identify growth opportunities and oversee investment strategies, including M&A activity.
• Cost Management: Develop strategies to optimize profits while reducing operational expenditures.
• Technology Management: Oversee IT systems to support financial operations and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

• Current experience as a CFO, finance officer, or senior financial leader.
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance, risk management, and financial derivatives.
• Strong analytical and forecasting skills with proven experience in cash flow optimization.
• Proficiency in MS Office and financial management software.
• Leadership acumen with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
• Experience in the petroleum products or energy sector.
• Proven success in managing Information Technology systems.
• Comprehensive background in hedging strategies and financial derivatives.
