Expected Hours of Work: (include any mandatory meeting times with time zone) 40 hours a week M-F (9-5) in the office
Summary/Objective
The R&D Application Scientist will be responsible for developing and implementing new product applications, conducting research, and providing technical support to customers using novel PWR technology, in a variety of applications, including drug discovery, protein interaction, and etc. The Application Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and contribute to the growth and success of the company.
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of new product applications through experimental design and execution.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive products.
- Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting application issues and recommending solutions.
- Collaborate with other R&D team members, marketing/sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product launches and commercialization.
- Generate application notes, technical documents, reports, and presentations to communicate research findings and product applications.
- Stay current on industry developments and participate in scientific conferences and seminars to enhance expertise. Present to external audiences at conferences or on company webinars.
Requirements
- Prior experience in application development based on SPR or similar instruments, with familiarity in SPR technology.
- Prior experience in research and development, preferably in analytical chemistry, surface chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, protein sciences, molecular biology, especially assay development.
- Hands-on experience with analytical chemistry instruments, including but not limited to chromatography, mass spectrometry, surface plasmon resonance, spectroscopy.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in experimental design and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external customers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovative thinking and a passion for developing new applications and solving complex problems.

- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook…)
Work Environment & Mental and Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position; move; operate and use required equipment; and reach items.
- Ability to move/transport up to 30 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to communicate, converse with others, and exchange information
