Our Location
Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Sr. Project Manager – Solar for All would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.
What We’re Looking For:
This position is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of key initiatives within Energy Trust’s Project Management Office (PMO), with a focus on managing external funding awards within the Renewables department (solar initiatives, such as the U.S. EPA Solar for All and Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) Portland Solar for All programs). This matrixed role requires the incumbent to split your time between these two equity-focused clean energy initiatives, collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders to achieve program goals.
This position will also be responsible for managing complex projects using PMO-established methodologies, including creating project plans, managing budgets and schedules, and tracking and reporting performance metrics and outputs. A key aspect of the role includes overseeing contracts, ensuring deliverables are met, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Success in this role requires exceptional project management skills, the ability to navigate cross-departmental collaboration, and a commitment to advancing social and racial equity through clean energy solutions.
This individual reports to the PMO Lead. This is a matrixed role, and the individual will have regular check-ins with and feedback from the Sr. Program Manager, Solar for All.
This position is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly at a minimum for all staff and other in-person meetings.
What You’ll Do:
- Define and document project scope, objectives, and deliverables for initiatives
- Design comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with PMO methodologies and organizational goals.
- Facilitate cross functional team meetings by setting agendas, capturing major action items, and tracking major deliverables and timelines.
- Create and manage change management plans to ensure successful adoption of project outcomes and internal procedures.
- Manage contracts and vendor relationships, including negotiation, execution, and performance tracking, to ensure program deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments, working closely with program teams, finance, legal, and external partners to align resources and activities.
- Facilitate external collaboration with ODOE, PCEF and CBO staff.
- Manage project teams comprised of staff and/or contractors to execute project implementation plan.
- Perform liaison role between project owner and internal and external project stakeholders.
- Produces weekly project status report.
- Track and report on project performance metrics, including financial data, key milestones, and program impacts, with an emphasis on equity outcomes and clean energy advancements
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
What You’ll Need:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, environmental studies, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
· Minimum of five years’ experience managing multiple concurrent, complex projects, including cross-departmental and stakeholder-driven initiatives.
· Demonstrated experience managing contracts, including drafting, negotiation, compliance tracking, and vendor relationship management.
· Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, balancing priorities across multiple programs and teams.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with diverse groups such as government agencies, community organizations, and corporate partners.
· Familiarity with equity-driven programs and an understanding of racial and social justice principles as they relate to clean energy projects.
· Experience with energy-related projects, particularly solar, clean energy, or energy efficiency, is strongly preferred.
· Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including Agile and waterfall frameworks.
· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
· Change management expertise, including the ability to lead organizational change efforts related to project implementation.
· Ability to track and report on equity outcomes, including metrics tied to program impacts on low-income and disadvantaged communities.
· PMP Certification and/or Prosci Change Management Certification preferred.
· Experience with Federal reporting requirements a plus.
