We are seeking a passionate and driven Product Owner to join our team and shape the future of Discogs. In this role, you'll be the key link between our users, stakeholders, and development team, translating user needs and business objectives into a compelling product vision and roadmap. Compensation
Starting Base Salary Range - $95,000 - $103,000 annually

Who We’re Looking For
The Product Owner collaborates with a cross-functional team to build and deliver a product roadmap that improves the experience of Discogs users and drives business value. The Product Owner works proactively with internal and external stakeholders to understand relevant priorities and weave broader business needs into the roadmap.

- Own the Vision: Develop and champion a clear product vision for your assigned squad, aligned with Discogs' overall strategic goals.
- Be the Voice of the Customer: Deeply understand user needs and pain points through research, data analysis, and direct engagement with the Discogs community.
- Collaborate and Execute: Work closely with engineering, design, and QA to translate user needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring timely and effective delivery of features and enhancements in an iterative fashion.
- Prioritize and Roadmap: Define and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on user impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Measure and Iterate: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product performance and identify areas for improvement, using data-driven insights to inform product strategy.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Maintain a strong understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends in your product area.
Department/Team Specific Requirements:
- Identity Squad
- The Product Owner for the Identity squad is responsible for developing and managing a group of capabilities including login/registration, fraud prevention,and user account management.
- Basic understanding of identity and access management (IAM) concepts such as authentication methods, single sign-on (SSO), and MFA (multi-factor authentication) are required.
- Familiarity with industry regulations related to data privacy and security
Requirements
What You’ll Contribute
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with user research methodologies and data analysis to inform product decisions.
- Proven ability to prioritize features and manage product roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
- Technical knowledge of relevant technologies like APIs, databases, and security protocols
- Ability to analyze data and prioritize features based on user impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and track progress, using data to inform product strategy.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams like sales, marketing, legal, and customer support to communicate product strategy and address stakeholder concerns.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years work experience in a product role
- Project management experience and/or certification
- Ability to effectively present and communicate information to stakeholders and senior management
- Experience using Product Development tools (Atlassian suite preferred--Jira, Figma, Confluence)
- Ability to analyze data from various sources such as analytics tools, reports, and surveys
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture and microservices; APIs; automated testing; continuous deployment
- Understands agile principles and drives iterative processes to release and improve upon feature and product launches
Preferred
- Professional certification - CSPO, Project Management, software development methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Lean, etc.)
- Experience working in online communities and/or ecommerce environments.
- Experience utilizing Discogs platform as a user .
- Experience with large scale, high traffic websites that operate on a global scale.
