Processing and Extraction Technician

We are looking for a driven individual who will work in collaboration with the extraction team to ensure manufacturing goals are safely and reliably met as we embark on our next phase of growth. This position will report directly to the Processing and Extraction Lead and will support the preparation and execution of ethanol extraction and refinement process from end to end, as well as adhering to a strict cleaning and maintenance schedule. Additionally, this role will help conduct hemp fiber processing when not extracting hemp. Duties and Responsibilities:

Processing

• Conduct hemp fiber processing, hit production targets, and report weekly production.
• Responsible for accomplishing processing goals, projects and daily tasks
• Detailed processing record keeping, updating schedule, and inventory
• Carry out all fiber processing procedures in a safe and efficient manner, complying with Lazarus Naturals processing-related SOP’s.
• Operation and maintenance of fiber processing equipment, such as conveyors, vacuums, and hammer mills, and separator screens, etc
• Maintain a safe and organized work space; perform continuous safety checks on machines and equipment (which includes tools); promptly notify management of maintenance needs.

Extraction

• Carry out all extraction and extract processing manufacturing procedures in a safe and efficient manner, complying with Lazarus Naturals extraction-related SOP’s.
• Record and monitor process conditions and batch tracking to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work space; perform continuous safety checks on machines and equipment (which includes tools); promptly notify the Facility Manager of maintenance needs.
• Operation and maintenance of extraction equipment, such as valves, pumps, and centrifuges, chillers, etc
• Assists in the processing and post processing activities and the setup, breakdown, and regular operation of the extraction facility as needed.
• Receive and communicate instructions, job assignments and updates verbally and non-verbally from Director of Chemical Manufacturing and/or Facility Manager, fellow technicians, instructive lists, SOP, email, and interpret work orders to properly prioritize material for extraction and processing.
• Must follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery, instrumentation, and equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, Bachelor of Science (preferred)
• Work Experience: 2 to 3 years working in a team environment and with heavy machinery
• Heavy equipment operation (pallet jacks, forklifts)
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a dusty/dirty and noisy environment and wear personal protective gear correctly
• Mechanically inclined
• Effective communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Availability to work occasional weekends and holidays, mandatory OT may be required
