About the Program: Ahead of the 2024 elections, Movement Labs is launching a political tactic incubator with unprecedented ambition. Our goal is to explore, analyze, and scale innovative strategies that persuade, mobilize, and register voters to counteract Trump's influence. We are committed to investing millions in successful initiatives, focusing on new organizing programs and turnout tactics. These efforts will target low-turnout, high-opportunity voters in marginalized communities, persuade Republican voters toward President Biden, and enhance voter registration efforts. The objective is to garner 50,000 votes for Biden ahead of the November Election.
Details & Compensation
- Location: Remote.
- Start Date: ASAP
- Compensation: $85,000-$91,000, depending on experience
- Benefits: Movement Labs employees receive excellent health, dental, and vision benefits, 401k, work-from-home stipends, and unlimited Paid Time Off. This position does not qualify as a bargaining unit position.
- Duration: This is a full-time, exempt position through November 15, 2024.
About the Role:
Movement labs is hiring for the role of Operations Director for the 2024 cycle. This role is a mission critical position for our Political Innovation Incubator. The Operations Director will coordinate with all of the Incubator Mode Leads including the Digital Organizing, Organizing, Paid Digital and Special Projects Directors to create and maintain budgetary and operational processes, and ensure the Incubator team has all operational systems in place to run as many experiments as possible leading up to the 2024 election;
This role will be responsible for providing budget, staffing and operational needs for dozens of pilots in each Mode Vertical across the seven battleground states. When pilots are successful, the Operations Director will work alongside each Mode Lead to scale experiments ahead of the 2024 election. This role will report to the VP of Political Innovation and will work closely with the Incubator Director.
Our ideal candidate is a spreadsheet-loving, detail-oriented, program-management star with a deep familiarity of campaigns and progressive organizations’ operational needs. We are looking for someone who innately thinks five steps ahead, thrives on organization and has a get-it-done attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee an agile operations system for the Incubator to streamline processes;
- Collaborate with Mode Leads to establish and implement recruitment, hiring, onboarding, cybersecurity, technology asset management, budgeting, vendor procurement, and contract execution processes;
- Lead project management of initiatives across teams, ensuring collaborative and efficient execution;
- Develop and update training programs, addressing critical skill gaps to advance Incubator objectives;
- Partner with the Movement Labs HR team to cultivate a diverse talent pipeline for each Mode vertical;
- Coach Mode vertical staff on optimizing both internal Movement Labs resources and services and external vendor and technology resources and services;
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least two cycles of experience in an operations or management role on a campaign or part of an operations department;
- Experience with designing and/or enforcing operational processes on campaigns or at an organization;
- Experience training and a demonstrated track record of producing dynamic onboarding curriculum and materials;
- Proven track record building and managing vendors for a campaign or organization;
- Proven ability to write for multiple audiences and translate complex information clearly;
- Experience and proficiency with budgets and comfort with numbers;
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities;
- Strong proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, core tech tools: Airtable, Asana, Slack, Google Workspace;
- Excellent ability to exercise discretion;
- Passionate about fighting fascism and defeating Donald Trump by re-electing President Biden.
