We are looking for a dedicated CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations while utilizing your technical expertise in machining and programming. What you’ll do:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities in the CNC machine shop, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to team members.
- Oversee machine setup, programming, and operation for precision and accuracy.
- Ensure all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies are followed.
- Work with management to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Train, mentor, and develop machine shop employees on machining techniques, safety, and CNC programming.
- Perform hands-on programming and troubleshooting when necessary to support production.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all products meet specifications.
- Manage the preparation of materials and oversee processes such as deburring, packaging, and saw cutting.
- Ensure the machine shop is ready at the start of each shift and properly shut down at the end.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to improve efficiency and production processes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a machinist role, with supervisory or leadership experience.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, particularly with HAAS, Mazak, and Mori Seiki machinery.
- Strong knowledge of machine tools, measurements (metric and imperial), and mechanical terms.
- Experience with tooling setup, such as Tombstone and fixture plates, and the ability to test and implement new programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PDF) and the ability to manage email communication and documentation.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and experience promoting OSHA compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
Desired skills (not required):
- Forklift experience and certification.
- Experience with Shrink Fit, ER tooling, and other advanced machining processes.
- Ability to train others in CNC programming and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in quality control and managing workflow.
