Full Job Description

As our accounts receivable specialist, you oversee the billing to cash cycle. You ensure services bill correctly, payments arrive timely, post correctly once received, and resolve discrepancies through reconciliation. This position works collaboratively with our various locations and reports to the director of accounting.

Accounting Functions

  • Manage receivable accounts for various payer types, including Private Pay, Medicaid, and Long Term Care Insurance (LTCI).
  • Generate invoices according to the scheduled timeline.
  • Post cash receipts within 24 hours of receipt and one day after month-end for assigned branches.
  • Process ACH or credit card payments upon client or family request and send payment receipts.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closes by executing billing, collections, and reporting activities on schedule.
  • Monitor client accounts for payment issues and irregularities, generate monthly account statements, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate with clients and families, assist case managers, and prepare monthly metrics as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word, including advanced Excel functions like formulas and pivot tables.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and record-keeping, with a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations for handling PHI
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
  • Strong analytical skills for addressing payment discrepancies and conducting data analysis
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with effective time management
  • Initiative-driven with a proactive approach to delivering quality accounting solutions and maintaining compliance with industry regulations

Education and Experience

  • Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and two years of accounting experience.
