Pooch Pals Foundation is looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our dedicated team in our mission to improve the lives of dogs in need. As a nonprofit organization, we are committed to providing high-quality veterinary care and support to the animals in our care, ensuring they receive everything they need to thrive until they find their forever homes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for a diverse population of dogs. You will work collaboratively with a team of veterinary technicians, volunteers, and support staff to create treatment plans, perform surgeries, and provide education to pet owners and staff. Responsibilities
- Perform examinations, diagnose illnesses, and treat injuries for dogs under our care.
- Conduct routine and emergency surgeries as needed.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians to deliver high-quality medical care.
- Provide preventative care and education to animal owners and staff.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all animals.
- Support the foundation’s mission through community outreach and education efforts.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Active veterinary license in the state where the foundation operates.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a shelter or nonprofit setting.
- Strong surgical skills and experience in anesthesia management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to animal welfare and the mission of Pooch Pals Foundation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
