Traveling Superintendent

Our client, a leading general contractor specializing in delivering high-quality commercial and retail construction projects is looking to hire a dynamic, experienced Traveling Superintendent to join their growing team and oversee projects across various locations.

Position Overview:
The Traveling Superintendent will manage commercial and retail construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to work in diverse environments. This role requires extensive travel to project sites across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety standards
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of each phase
• Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and contracts
• Monitor project progress, address any issues, and ensure high-quality standards are met
• Manage site inspections, maintain compliance with building codes, and resolve any regulatory issues
• Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are strictly enforced on site
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations
• Handle material procurement, workforce scheduling, and problem-solving on the ground
• Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and financial records

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction, preferably within the retail or commercial sectors
• Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale construction projects simultaneously
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams on-site
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and construction practices
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on detail and quality
• Experience with scheduling software and project management tools is a plus
