In addition to promoting compliance, we help patients with things like financial assistance programs, prescriptions and refills, insurance issues, transportation to visits, understanding their disease and care plan, and coordinating care with other providers.
With direct medical record access to hundreds of thousands of patients with vision-threatening chronic eye diseases and partnerships with over 800 eye care specialists in 32 states, Lumata Health is driving better outcomes and reducing cost at scale, one patient at a time.
Position Overview
The Training Auditing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and compliance of the training program designed for New Hire Care Coaches at Lumata Health. This role bridges the gap between training and quality assurance, ensuring that Care Coaches are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to organizational standards. The Training Auditing Specialist is crucial for ensuring training initiatives align with Lumata Health’s overall goals and objectives. By regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the training program, the Training Auditing Specialist can identify gaps in knowledge or skills, measure the impact of training on employee performance, and ensure that training resources are being utilized efficiently. This proactive approach helps to maintain high standards of employee performance and improve organizational efficiency. The Training Auditing Specialist will also support both the Training and the Quality Departments when needed.

Essential Functions:
- Communication & Collaboration: Share audit insights, report compliance issues, collaborate with teams, and maintain clear communication with leadership and new hires.
- Professionalism & Core Values: Uphold Lumata’s standards, demonstrate core values, foster a positive work environment, and act as a role model.
- Quality & Productivity: Audit outreach and documentation weekly, complete audits within one day, and evaluate new hire performance, providing feedback and support.
- Coaching & Support: Provide coverage for Training Specialists, offer 1:1 coaching, ensure smooth transitions, maintain performance records, and address issues promptly.
Requirements
- Healthcare licensure or certification (Ophthalmology experience preferred: COA, COT, COMT).
- 1–3 years of healthcare documentation/EMR experience, with preferred background in care management or case management.
- Proficiency in multiple software platforms; experience with CRM or omni-channel service platforms preferred.
- Basic understanding of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and related compliance/billing requirements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong consultative skills and ability to provide feedback and guidance to patients.
- Ability to work across time zones and remotely with reliable Wi-Fi for consistent video conferencing.
- Must be able to regularly attend video calls and meetings as required.
Work Environment:
Lumata is pleased to provide a remote working environment for their team members. In order to perform the essential functions of this job, remote connectivity is essential. You will need a dedicated remote workspace with either a cable or fiber optic internet connection offering a minimum of 50 Mbps of download speed and 10 Mbps of upload speed of dedicated internet bandwidth for each person asking your network.
Your workspace should be private and offer a low noise level conducive with managing frequent professional conversations and virtual meetings. It is also critical that your workspace be HIPAA compliant. For example, you will want to ensure access to your company-issued PC is restricted, as you may be handling patient data at times. You are typically expected to have your camera on during virtual customer and internal meetings, therefore, your surroundings should be optimized for privacy.
