Team Leader - Sow Farm Farrowing Department

Assist in developing and meeting farm goals and daily tasks by working with other crew members under the direction of the farm manager.

Requirements

• Minimum high school education with 6 months production experience or lead tech experience preferred.
• Must have excellent breeding skills.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must be a good communicator and team player.
• Ability to do hard physical labor.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate and promote Prestage Farms core values, mission and goals to members of the farrowing team.
• Responsible for proper animal condition and health.
• Assure that feed, water, vaccination, and general animal husbandry is done properly.
• Working with farm manager to assure the farm is operating at maximum capacity by maintaining efficient animal flows and by achieving farrowing targets.
• Make sure SOP’s are trained, understood and followed.
• Set and meet farm goals and daily tasks by working with and supervising crewmembers.
• Assure farm biosecurity is maintained.
• Accurate records must be maintained, and all data entered in a timely manner.
• Working with the Farm Manager to be responsible for all Farrowing Team personnel issues including but not limited to, hiring, termination, worker safety, performance evaluation, and staffing levels.
• Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of facilities.
