The RCM Operations Liaison is responsible for developing from the ground-up, the internal revenue cycle systems and process for a rapidly growing healthcare company in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. This position will oversee billing accounts and resolving all revenue cycle problems. The individual will manage the billing teams. Assist in the communications with insurance, collections, cash posting, billing transactions with clients, and report creation. Full list of requirements below.
Requirements
- Subject Matter Expert of Revenue Cycle Systems (Patient Accounting and Charge Master).
- Develop RCM detailed policies and procedures, training, and workflow documentation.
- Optimize processes for increased productivity, revenue generation opportunities or cost control initiatives.
- Provide training to new and existing users, as needed.
- Design, develop, and maintain system configuration, such as clinical content, fee schedules, charge entry review and edits.
- Provide primary support to clinical systems and applications and secondary support for hardware, database, telecommunications, and networking infrastructure.
- Communicate and escalate urgent needs and awareness to Director of Revenue Cycle.
- Respond to user requests in a timely and efficiently.
- Operate independently to complete projects with minimal direction from Director of Revenue Cycle.
- Act as IT liaison for Revenue Cycle Systems.
- Ad-Hoc Revenue Cycle requests
- Attends practice related and other meetings with or for Director of Revenue Cycle as requested, and follows up and communicates information, as appropriate. These meetings require the associate to provide advanced revenue cycle analytics, identify opportunities for efficiency and revenue optimization.
- Supports client practice leadership in developing productivity and quality assurance standards that maximize revenue opportunity and are compliant with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Requests and reviews all standard produced reporting to identify trends or issues. Monitors and research key operating and performance trends to include but not limited to, GCR, NCR, denial percentage, charge lag, and accounts receivable days.
- Analyzes, synthesizes and reports assigned receivables in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Using data and observation, identifies opportunities for revenue improvement, increased efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Optimizes collaboration between departmental partners to resolve issues in patient management, AR management and overall revenue cycle process. Tasks of this nature include but are not limited to patient/customer service inquiries, payer correspondence related to audits, communication about regulatory findings, navigating IT challenges (creating claim edits, user access to system functions), provider credentialing and specialty recognition, new locations, or specialty services (including pricing methodology).
- Partners with A/R management to target denial trends and facilitates successful adjudication.
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
- Participates in educational/professional development activities.
- Supports development and facilitation of onsite revenue cycle training and education to ensure best practice and systems procedures.
- Manages, supervises, and monitors functions of Revenue Cycle in a professional manner.
- Directs RCM various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring and vacation schedules, performance appraisals, transfers, and dismissals. This should be sent to HR from the direct supervisor/manager.
- Enters and maintain employee data (i.e., new hires, terminations, status changes for RCM Department.
- Monitor RCM Department new employee onboarding to ensure complete submission of required documents and tasks are sent to HR & received.
- Maintain accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Maintain contingent workforce data (hires, terminations, extensions).
Qualifications:
- High attention to detail, strong organization, and analytical skills with ability to manage confidential data and materials.
- Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships.
- Intermediate Excel and other MS Office Suite tools.
- Strong internal and external communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of hospital billing (UB) and professional billing (1500) required, specifically Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, managed care, and commercial insurance billing experience required.
- 5-7 years of leadership experience required; Medical Professional Billing.
