Full Job Description
Xpress Wellness Urgent Care is looking for a skilled and compassionate Radiologic Technologist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Triage/greet patients; obtain patient medical history and vital signs.
- Show patients to exam rooms and prepare them to see the practitioners including explaining procedures
- Administers injections, medications, eye and ear irrigations and enemas, dresses/bandages wounds and incisions, draws blood, and assists provider with any procedures, as directed. All actions taken are by provider orders only.
- Performs diagnostic tests including eye exam, electrocardiograph, defibrillator, cardiac monitor, oxygen equipment, pulse ox, peak flow and inhalation treatment equipment.
- Performs CLIA-waived lab tests, draws blood and collects, labels and processes lab specimens for send-out.
- Utilizes shielding /collimation to minimize patient radiation exposure, complies with Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles; monitors own radiation exposure.
- Properly performs radiographic modalities and procedures.
- Assist practitioners with patient examinations and procedures; assist with medication administration.
- Deliver post-exam instruction to patients and perform follow-ups as needed.
- Document all information appropriately in patient charts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited x-ray-based training program
- Current Radiologic Technologist (RT) license
- Knowledge of x-ray techniques and proper patient alignment during procedures
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Proficient computer skills, experience with electronic medical records preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work weekends and/or holidays when needed
- Compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and team members
