JOB SUMMARY

  • This Candidate will work with Operations to measure, analyze and improve employee efficiency and work processes.
  • Must possess and use a strong analytical approach to problem-solving and create cost effective solutions.
  • Employs lean manufacturing methods
  • Completes all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive operational excellence.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Suggests, implements, and justifies process improvements to all methods, processes, and equipment for a more modern, efficient, and cost-effective production facility
  • Prepares project system layout including detailed specifications, drawings, process flow charts and schematics
  • Designs, directs, and leads full scale engineering projects, involving aspects of project and action plan kick off, Cost and ROI analysis, DMAIC methodology and design of experiments
  • Works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Maintenance to provide technical support and troubleshooting proficiency in all areas in production
  • Develops, plans, and coordinates the feasibility assessment, procurement, installation, and integration of capital equipment
  • Maintains safe working equipment plant systems and an accident-free environment while ensuring compliance with all state and federal policies and regulations
  • Leading process optimization efforts to address specific business requirements and to eliminate waste from the assembly processes
  • Supports Production Engineering projects and initiatives with a focus on reducing costs, improving quality, and improving customer satisfaction
  • Works with cross functional teams to develop best practice solutions
  • Utilizing a wide range of Industrial Engineering, Lean, and Six Sigma tools and techniques to make process improvements
  • Performa Time Studies to understand processes and performance metrics
  • Documents processes using process mapping and value stream mapping
  • Trains workforce in lean manufacturing concepts.

Requirements

  • BS – Industrial Engineering, or affiliated engineering field
  • 5+ years' hands on & relevant experience with automated manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in writing work instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Skills

  • Optional proficiency with Adobe applications and 3D CAD (Solidworks).

Work Environment

  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, other hours as required, including overtime and weekends.
