Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies is looking to hire an experienced VP of Operations. The ideal candidate must have leadership, supply chain, distribution and construction industry experience. Experience in the foodservice industry is a plus.

Primary Objective: This position will be responsible for the leadership, management, and the operational success of the business within a wholesale distribution environment. This position will be an integral member of the Leadership team.
Primary Functions: Provide strategic insight on company operations while leading and overseeing Procurement, Inventory Management, Distribution, Project Management, Delivery & Install, Customer Service, & Service Teams
Reports To: President
Directly Supervises: Purchasing Manager, Customer Service Manager, Service Manager, Warehouse Manager and Construction Manager
Scheduled Hours: Full-time / Mon-Fri / 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Areas of Responsibility:

- Manage business operations which includes the distribution center, project management, delivery & install, purchasing/procurement, service, inventory management, and customer service while maintaining high quality standards, adhering to all safety procedures, and striving to provide exceptional customer service.
- Effectively manage staffing requirements, budgetary performance, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure profitability.
- Partner with key resources to implement and maintain lean principles including a process to maximize efficiencies and accountability around action items.
- Partner with key resources to actively manage vendor programs, seek improvement opportunities to enhance margin, and form strong relationships within the Supply Chain
- Analyze and improve warehouse processes, design, configuration, mechanization, and automation to create a more effective and efficient fulfillment operation.
- Effectively manage preventative maintenance programs, schedules, and repairs for warehouse & service facility items, including distribution and service equipment, such as forklifts and delivery trucks
- Analyze and improve efficiency of our in-house delivery & install model and actively strive for continuous improvement from our third-party distribution and installation partners.
- Analyze and improve efficiency in the Supply Chain Management process to improve customer experience, margins, and inventory turns.
- Oversee, implement, and maintain corporate compliance including OSHA, DOL, Code of Conduct to create and maintain safe, positive working environments for all team members.
- Collaborate with HR to hire, train and develop high performance teams through the company’s performance management processes, along with individual/team recognition for strong performance and timely intervention on all performance/behavioral concerns.
- Demonstrate active leadership by creating positive, accountable, and dynamic work environments through personal engagement and coaching through all levels of the company.
- Active participation within the Leadership Team through effective communication, setting a positive example, and providing support to peers and the CEO.
Requirements
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated leadership in managing staff, departments, major projects or initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
- Excels at operating in a fast-paced, community environment.
- Open to direction with an ability to look at situations from differing viewpoints.
- Experience in budget development and performance analysis
Experience/Education:
- 5-7 Years experience in Distribution, Supply Chain Management, and/or Manufacturing
- 5-7 Years experience in Management
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
- Experience in Construction/ General Contractor is a plus
