Our client, a prominent retailer in Columbus, Ohio is looking for a Senior Buyer Manager. The Senior Buyer Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities within the organization, ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and supporting the company's operational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the entire procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering their growth and development.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, and economic indicators to forecast and plan future purchasing activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Optimize the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Implement and oversee cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and align procurement activities accordingly.
  • Manage the department's budget and report on key performance indicators.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve procurement processes and efficiency.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through strategic planning and supplier diversification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of implementing cost-saving measures and process improvements.
