Our client, a prominent retailer in Columbus, Ohio is looking for a Senior Buyer Manager. The Senior Buyer Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities within the organization, ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and supporting the company's operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Manage the entire procurement process, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering their growth and development.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and economic indicators to forecast and plan future purchasing activities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Optimize the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Implement and oversee cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and align procurement activities accordingly.
- Manage the department's budget and report on key performance indicators.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve procurement processes and efficiency.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through strategic planning and supplier diversification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of implementing cost-saving measures and process improvements.
