You will work on various projects within our Transportation Market and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects, for a variety of clients. Projects will include safety planning and design, roundabouts, corridor studies and plans, design of traffic signals and of advanced ITS systems and others. This position offers hands-on training in the hot field intelligent transportation systems and smart cities infrastructure.

Responsibilities

•           Provide traffic engineering design for a variety of LPA, DOT and private clients.
•           Produce and review traffic impact studies, safety studies, and traffic forecasting.
•           Establishes guidelines for cost estimates. Reviews and approves estimates prepared by others.
•           May function as Project Manager - demonstrating strong team, communication, and organization abilities.
•           Frequently functions as a subject matter expert.
•           Assure project understanding, approach, and technology fully addresses client, regulatory, and best practices.
•           Independently develop projects. May be assigned as subject matter expert.    

Desired

•           Road Safety Professional is a plus.
•           MicroStation/Geopak/OpenRoads and/or AutoCad/Civil 3D.
•           Other design-related software such as SignCad and AutoTurn.
•           HCS, Synchro/Simtraffic, VISSIM, TransModeler, SIDRA, Rodel.
•           Travel demand modeling is a plus.
•           Basic or advanced GIS capabilities desired.
•           Knowledge of MUTCD policies and procedures.                    

Must have

•          Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
•          7+ years’ experience as a Project Engineer/Traffic Engineer.
•          PE/PTOE
•          Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance.
