M/I Financial, LLC is a full-service mortgage lender who is actively searching for a Post Closing Officer to work at our corporate office, located in Columbus, Ohio (Easton).

Job Summary:

Monitors receipt of and performs full audit of closed mortgage loan documentation to ensure completion and compliance with all applicable guidelines and procedures.  Prepares documentation/ packages to ensure salability of loans to new servicers, investors, and mortgage brokers.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Obtains, monitors receipt of and performs timely audits of all applicable closed loan documents.
  • Performs system data entry and indexing of loan documents.
  • Ensures mandatory deadlines are met without compromising quality. 
  • Communicates with title agencies, branch personnel and other internal parties to resolve questions/ concerns/ issues during loan review.
  • Accurately performs insuring for government loans within the required timeframes, activates private mortgage insurance policies (PMI).
  • Performs necessary administrative tasks, including but not limited to; typing, scanning, copying, record keeping, organize and (properly) dispose of closed loan packages received.

Requirements

Minimum Education & Experience:  

High school graduate with basic academic and practical skills. College Degree is preferred, but not required. Minimum of one year work experience within the Mortgage Industry. General knowledge of loan processing and/or underwriting fundamentals.

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Customer service oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with a variety of people, both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to successfully adapt to consistent environmental and/or procedural changes.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate information relative to loan closing, processing and underwriting guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a must.
  • Must have a problem-solver mentality, with ability to research & troubleshoot independently.
  • General technical skills, including but not limited to typing, calculator, use of computer & basic applicable programs (such as; Microsoft Office Suite, Edge, Google Chrome, etc.).
  • Must have excellent time management skills, highly organized and maintain accuracy & efficiency while performing loan documentation review at a reasonable pace.

Work Conditions: 

This position reports to work in-office. Some weekend/overtime work may be required.
