Full Job Description

Expert Healthcare is looking for a skilled and compassionate Med Surg/PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. In this multifaceted role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, and Telemetry units. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans. This position requires expertise in monitoring cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and intervening in emergencies. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other nurses to ensure optimal care and support for patients and their families. Schedule: (3) 12-hour shifts 7p-730a; No Block Scheduling

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients in Med Surg/PCU and Telemetry settings.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac telemetry readings, responding to any changes promptly.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and clinical needs.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in electronic medical records accurately.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Med Surg, PCU, or Telemetry nursing required.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
  • Experience with EPIC or similar electronic health records system preferred.
  • Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and families.
  • BLS, ACLS and NIH certifications are required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
