The Maintenance Coordinator/Purchaser will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our maintenance department. This position is responsible for generating purchase orders, managing inventory, scheduling preventive maintenance (PM), and prioritizing work orders to maintain optimal equipment performance and reliability. Help meet production needs by maintaining inventory levels, prioritizing daily maintenance emergencies, and ensuring supplies are available for scheduled equipment maintenance activities.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintain parts area inventory levels, organization, and cleanliness.
- Develop job kits for scheduled work.
- Research parts and supplies; create purchase order requisitions.
- Identify recurring maintenance problems with equipment.
- Research, write, and modify preventive maintenance procedures.
- Regular attendance
- Other duties as required
Other Duties Could Include
- Monitor, schedule, and direct daily maintenance activities related to machine maintenance.
- Coordinate special programs, safety audits, inspections.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairs on equipment as needed.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- High school graduate. Associate's degree in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or related, or vocational training in related area is helpful.
- Minimum two years experience working in production operation
- Minimum two years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in the mechanical, electrical, chemical, hydraulic and AC/DC areas.
- Prior experience with evaluation, selection, scheduling, and requisitioning of parts and services related to maintenance/manufacturing
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding and knowledge of maintenance requirements and methods, and ability to effectively schedule and set up repairs and resolution to issues
- Must posses a light mechanical and electrical background as it relates to parts management.
- Understanding of parts and methods used in maintenance, and knowledge of how to search the internet websites for parts and supplies.
- Must have knowledge in the use of power and hand tools.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including percentages, volumes, weights, ratios, etc.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels and types of internal and external individuals; solid writing skills, including documentation, correspondence, manuals, etc.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize; solid organization and planning skills; ability to develop and execute project plans
