Expert Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Float Pool PCU Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. In this essential role, you will provide specialized care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring in Progressive Care Units (PCU). As a Float Pool nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in various departments within our healthcare network, gaining a diverse set of skills while ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. You will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs, interpreting telemetry readings, and responding to any changes in patient conditions. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, you will develop and implement individualized care plans while providing education and support to patients and their families. Schedule: (3) 12 hours shifts 7p-730a; No Block Scheduling
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data to assess patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans in coordination with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Respond to changes in patient conditions, providing timely interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and comprehensively in electronic medical records.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in telemetry or PCU settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
- Must have EPIC experience within the last 12 months.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- BLS, ACLS and NIH certifications required.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Must be willing to float to various departments as needed.
