Job Summary:

Directs and coordinates the development, production activities and optimization of the JD Edwards Enterprise One ERP system by defining the goals and objectives for required computer information systems, in addition to planning for, developing, and implementing new computer applications for existing systems operations. An efficient ERP system will help maximize the profitability of the company by managing budgets and cost controls for communities, lots, and options.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the team of people responsible for the daily operation of JD Edwards Homebuilder Management and Accounting functions including technical design, CNC work, administration, upgrades, archiving and business operations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of JD Edwards into our business processes, collaborating with various departments to enhance system functionality and efficiency, and working with internal and external IT team members to integrate data to various systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and resolve system-related issues promptly. Documenting and creating processes for common tasks and troubleshooting. Analyze root cause of issues and work with teams to provide solutions.
  • Consults with appropriate management representatives to determine information systems requirements, boundaries, and priorities of new projects, and to plan for system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
  • Confers with appropriate departments and management staff regarding proposed projects to further define nature of projects; ensures implementation of and smooth transition to new systems.
  • Prepares requests for proposals and solicits consultations and sales for systems analysis, programming, and computer services from outside firms; contracts, establishes and maintains working relationship with information management specialists, technical personnel, and appropriate vendors.
  • Consults with internal Infrastructure team to perform hardware analysis to define equipment needs and requirements.
  • Analyzes department workflow and job tasks of staff to recommend reorganization or department realignment to coincidence with projects, company planning and business objectives.
  • Develops and implements information systems policies and procedures to ensure delivery of quality technical and end-user support to increase efficiency and minimize down time of system; assists staff in diagnosing and resolving computer equipment problems.
  • Identifies emerging technologies that may be beneficial in meeting company goals and objectives.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises ERP staff through leadership and guidance of operating activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum Education Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in specialized training from a four year college or technical school combined with a minimum of 10 years related experience; related supervisory experience; and thorough knowledge of home building industry relative to required information systems.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Persuasive attitude with outstanding leadership, negotiation, organizational and detail-oriented aptitude.
  • Strong identification and problem-solving skills; ability to research, interpret, analyze, and evaluate given information relative to systems development and implementation, and technical and end-user support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with people inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to handle responsibilities for establishing and maintaining large budgets, inventories, and purchases.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of successfully leading ERP implementations and managing projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of current information systems trends; and working knowledge of given markets in relation to information systems environments.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Onsite in Columbus, Ohio at our Corporate Office.
