Expert Healthcare is currently looking for a compassionate and experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit team. In this crucial position, you will deliver specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac surgeries and procedures. You will be responsible for monitoring patients' conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with surgeons and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care. Schedule: (3) 12-hour shifts; Night Shift 7p-7:30a; No Block Scheduling
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to cardiac patients, including assessment, monitoring, and specialized interventions.
- Administer medications and maintain intravenous therapies as prescribed by the physician.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to formulate and implement individualized care plans.
- Assess and interpret diagnostic tests to inform clinical decisions and interventions.
- Educate patients and families on recovery processes, medication management, and care expectations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in electronic health records.
- Participate in patient care rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in CVICU or comparable cardiac care setting required.
- Must have 2+ years of open heart experience.
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and related protocols.
- Experience with EPIC required.
- Exceptional critical thinking and assessment capabilities.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications are required.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage complex patient situations.
