Full Job Description
Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications. Allied is currently looking for a CNC programmer to provide programs to the shop floor in order to produce special product.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop CNC programs for special products, ensuring their readiness for manufacturing production.
- Ensure compliance with machining parameters and best practices to reduce tool failures and minimize cycle times.
- Focus on cost reduction by optimizing machining practices to minimize cycle time for special products.
- Manage ongoing enhancements and process updates for any programs created.
- Review and verify CNC programs against design models using appropriate software to ensure accuracy and reduce the likelihood of error that could lead to scrap or rework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address the root cause of issues that may affect the processing of special tools.
- Maintain open communication and peer relationships with all associates involved in the process to promptly address and mitigate any issues that arise, ensuring right-first-time results and on-time delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to understand drafting processes and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of experience in a shop environment or formal programming training required.
- Technical or vocational degree in machining or related field preferred.
- CAD/CAM experience preferred.
- Experience with setting up and operating CNC machines preferred.
- Experience with FANUC controls preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 32 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours as needed.
