CNC Operator

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.

Allied is currently looking for an individual to set-up the finish grinders.

Night Shift

Regular shift: 5:00pm - 5:00am

Training shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm

2-2-3 Schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on - working every other weekend)

Requirements

• Operate and Setup Walter Finish Grind 5-axis grinders on standard product and special items.
• Perform complete inspections using an optical comparator, contracer, and camera
• Create part programs on PC stations utilizing blueprints and data files
• Perform wheel truing on all standard wheel sets, online and offline. Establish wheels on machine for truing, build new wheel stacks.
• Troubleshoot quality-related issues on the grinders
• Run production

• Observe and report all areas that need addressed.
• Maintain a high quality level as well as a high rate of efficiency.
• Work in a safe manner at all times.
• Correct reporting of job transactions.
• Fill out NCR for blades that do not meet our quality standards
• Follow inspection plan
• Proper use and care of micrometers and calipers.
• Read and understand blueprints.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Completed or enrolled in apprenticeship program preferred.

Experience:

• One year working knowledge of finish grinding operations, preferred.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicator gauges
• One year of CNC equipment set-up preferred.

Skills:

• Detail oriented and organizational skills
• Basic math skills
