Cloud Security Engineer

Echo360 is looking to hire a Cloud Security Engineer to enhance and maintain the company's security posture using AWS tools such as Security Hub, GuardDuty, and others. The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing security controls, expanding coverage, improving visibility, and configuring alerting mechanisms within AWS. This role will focus on cloud security operations and will support the SOC2 audit process through reviews and internal audits.

This position is FULLY REMOTE; we will consider candidates who are located in many, but not all, states within the United States.  For US-based positions, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer.

Requirements

The Primary Responsibilities for this role include:

Utilize AWS security tools (e.g., Security Hub, GuardDuty) to expand coverage, visibility, and alerting.

• Implement and manage security controls in collaboration with SRE, DevOps, and development teams.
• Conduct regular reviews and internal audits to support SOC2 compliance.
• Work with VAPT partners to address security vulnerabilities and ensure clean reports for customers.
• Assist in maintaining governance and compliance of security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Drive integration of security practices across all engineering teams.
• Configure automation for security monitoring and alerting within AWS.

The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:

• Solid understanding and experience with AWS security tooling and services.
• Experience configuring automation and alerting within AWS.
• Familiarity with SOC2 compliance requirements and audit processes.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with DevOps, development teams, and security partners.
• Proficiency in managing security controls and addressing vulnerabilities in a cloud environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other cloud platforms like GCP or Azure.
• Security certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or AWS Certified Security Specialty.
• Understanding of various compliance frameworks such as ISO, GDPR, and PCI.

Additional Job Details

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000 annually. 

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
