Woodhaven Residential Treatment Center, a leading provider of substance abuse treatment, is seeking Chemical Dependency Counselors to join their new Lebanon outpatient facility. As a counselor, you will be responsible for providing individual and group counseling, developing treatment plans, and educating clients on coping mechanisms to overcome substance abuse. You will be part of a highly skilled and continuously developing team of staff that delivers superior services to the clients. Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions and assessments for clients seeking treatment for substance abuse.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for each client, considering their unique strengths, challenges and goals.
- Educate clients on coping mechanisms to overcome addiction, and provide them with tools to maintain long-term sobriety.
- Maintain accurate and thorough client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure best possible outcomes for clients, coordinating care to address medical and psychiatric needs alongside substance abuse treatment.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, knowledge and skills to ensure effective and informed treatment.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, upholding ethical standards and maintaining positive relationships with clients, their families and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of LCDC II is required. Those with a CDCA can join the team in Dayton.
- Experience working in substance abuse treatment settings, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Knowledge of various addiction treatment modalities and interventions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain positive professional relationships.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and codes of ethics related to chemical dependency counseling.
