Full Job Description
Advantic Building Group (ABG) is a design building firm that leverages industry leading technology to deploy advanced structural solutions utilizing fiber reinforced polymer materials alongside conventional material systems. The Designer is responsible for developing 3D models, client/permit submittal drawings, fabrication drawings, BIM coordination and quality assurance reviews. The Designer is a collaborative role with interfaces with clients, trade partners, project/department managers, engineers, shop craftsmen and peer designers.

Essential Functions:
- Work independently as the project design lead collaborating with PM and support engineers to develop engineering and fabrication drawings/models.
- Review project inputs to ensure all necessary information is available, identify/track request for information, and lead project maturation with conceptual modeling
- Develop 3D models, fabrication/assembly drawings, installation drawings and bill of materials and is responsible for quality, timeliness, final review, and approval of all engineering deliverables.
- Quality assurance/control leadership includes design/model reviews ensuring alignment with project specifications, HHS/building codes, constructability and ENG design
- Lead BIM coordination meetings to resolve clashes and coordinate with trade partners
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal / written communication and leadership skills to consult / collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Document and track open items requiring attention for project completion
- Track progress on assigned tasks, provide updates to the project team, proactively estimates percent completion, and communicate risks to meeting assigned deadlines
- Provide leadership to advance departmental quality, efficiency, and capacity through deployment of technology, continuous improvement ideas, training and mentoring of junior employees
- Work as part of a collaborative team to balance workloads and ensure quality deliverables are produced on time.
- Site walks when necessary to collect/document field measurements and assess field conditions
Requirements
- Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD is required. Equivalent work experience considered at the discretion of management
- In addition, the position requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience working as a designer or similar role
- BIM Coordination/Navisworks/Revit/AutoCad experience is preferred
- Construction experience is preferred
