Buyer Planner

This role is responsible for providing production scheduling with an optimal and realistic sequence based on the availability of resources and materials. This role will work strategically with operations, Vendor partners and Supplier Sourcing to reduce costs and realize optimal inventory levels while working to achieve on time deliverables and value to our customers. This role will have full ownership of the demand accuracy and material and supply availability to manage the commodities assigned. The role will interface with Suppliers in the timely release and maintenance of purchase orders to support demand needs. 

Key Responsibilities

• Establish a production plan within a defined production scheduling period that considers available capacity, labor, and materials availability in response to demand requirements for the scope of work being managed.
• Review the detailed production schedule as defined by Planning Management to ensure it continues to meet business priorities and requirements; adjust supply requirements accordingly for the commodity assigned
• Utilize QAD tools during production and planning tools and efficiencies to determine the optimal schedule for cost and materials 
• Analyze demand and scheduled needs and manage optimal supply and inventory levels to support company objectives  
• Release planned production orders in support of production needs as required 
• Publish regular production schedule to key stakeholders, review all production changes, limitations and priorities to meet customer orders 
• Maintain QAD master data for Items and perform routine maintenance to ensure system data integrity
• Evaluating supply of material in buyer with the selection of the right product mix
• Creating, modifying and releasing of purchase orders to Supplier partners
• Tracking open purchase order status and expediting the arrival of materials to support demand requirements for production
• Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification in accordance to the established purchase price 

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business with a supply chain focus
• Master's Degree Preferred
• 1-3 years’ experience Supply Chain, Inventory Control and Purchasing
• 1-3 years’ experience Distribution, Scheduling
• 2+ years’ experience Project Management
• Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and ERP systems with an MRP applications
• Strong Analytical skill set
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
