Shop Technician Internship

Baranko Brothers, Inc., a large earthwork contractor based out of Dickinson, ND is currently seeking a Shop Techician Intern to join our team. The intern will be paired with a mentor and assist experienced technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, that may include, but not limited to, scrapers, bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, motor graders, haul trucks, front end loaders, water pumps,heavy truck, automotive trucks, and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing oil, filters, and lubricating components.
• Assist in inspecting equipment for safety and performance concerns.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Assist with cleaning and organizing the work area.
• Work in changing environments.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
• Collaborate with the team and learn from experienced technicians.
• Be self-motivated and willing to learn and grow in the role.
• Willing to perform repairs in a field setting when needed.
• Perform other shop duties as assigned.
• Complete Internship Program objectives.

Requirements

·        Ability to work in all types of weather conditions

·        Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment.

·        Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in pursuing a career as a Shop Techician.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic skills in the use of measurement and gauging equipment and processes.
• Demonstrate systematic approach to trouble shooting.
