Full Job Description
- Perform accurate grade and elevation checks using GPS Equipment
- Verify and document elevation and alignment of various construction elements, such as roadways, wellsite pads, building pads, and utilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction crews to ensure proper grading and accuracy of construction projects.
- Perform topo surveys to generate quantity and production reports.
- Responsible of controlling grade and monitoring process to ensure project is not undercut or overfilled.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and standards on construction sites.
- Install and maintain stakes on projects to establish grades throughout construction.
- Set up and maintain GPS base, rover, and equipment kits throughout project duration.
Requirements
- Prefer 2 years of experience as a Grade Checker or Equipment Operator
- Proficient in utilizing surveying tools and equipment, preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and grading requirements preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform accurate calculations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be comfortable with outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Willing and able to walk several miles per day while installing stakes and/or conducting topographical surveys.
- Must be open to performing a variety of tasks as assigned by the foreman or superintendent, which may not be explicitly outlined in the job description. Flexibility and a positive attitude towards taking on new challenges are essential.
