Vice President of Medical Affairs 

US Field Based  

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Medical Affairs to lead and grow the medical affairs team.

The VP of Medical Affairs will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the medical strategy, driving clinical education, and overseeing medical communications to support the company’s oncology diagnostics portfolio. This individual will serve as the medical expert on MRD testing and collaborate closely with the market access, clinical development, sales and marketing, R&D, regulatory, and biopharma teams to ensure that our products deliver the highest clinical value to healthcare providers, patients, and stakeholders. This role requires a strong background in oncology, experience in molecular diagnostics, and proven expertise in medical affairs leadership. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Medical Strategy and Leadership 

·       Develop and execute the medical affairs strategy to support the clinical adoption of MRD testing solutions, aligning with corporate goals. 

·       Serve as the medical and scientific leader, providing expert insights to shape the product roadmap, evidence generation strategy, and commercial approach. 

·       Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to market access, clinical development, sales and marketing, R&D, regulatory, and biopharma to guide product development with a focus on clinical utility and patient outcomes. 

 

Clinical Evidence Generation and Scientific Publications 

·       Design and oversee clinical studies to generate robust evidence for the validity, clinical utility and health economic value of MRD testing in oncology. 

·       Ensure effective dissemination of data through scientific publications, conferences, and medical education initiatives. 

·       Lead a team responsible for developing and executing publication plans. 

 

External Medical and Scientific Engagement 

·       Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and advocacy organizations in oncology. 

·       Represent the company at major conferences, industry events, and advisory boards, promoting our MRD technology and capabilities. 

·       Facilitate and oversee advisory board meetings to obtain insights from KOLs that inform the company’s scientific and clinical strategies. 

 

Medical Education and Training 

·       Develop and execute a comprehensive medical education program to support internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of clinical evidence, product benefits, and proper utilization of MRD tests. 

·       Oversee the development of educational materials for sales teams, physicians, and other healthcare providers. 

 

Medical Communications and Compliance 

·       Ensure all external-facing materials and medical communications are scientifically accurate, clear, and compliant with regulatory standards. 

·       Collaborate with the regulatory team to maintain compliance with US FDA and international regulations and guidelines on medical affairs activities. 

·       Establish SOPs and policies that maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity and ethical practice within the Medical Affairs department. 

 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

·       MD, MD/PhD, or PhD in a relevant field with strong expertise in oncology and molecular diagnostics. 

·       10+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, preferably with 5+ years in a senior leadership role in oncology diagnostics. 

·       Proven experience in MRD testing or oncology biomarkers is highly preferred. 

·       Strong understanding of clinical trial design, biostatistics, and evidence generation in a regulated environment. 

·       Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with experience working closely with KOLs and stakeholders across the oncology ecosystem. 

·       Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives from concept to execution. 

·       Ability to travel within the US and Europe as needed
